I inherited my mother's home when she passed away, and this was in the middle of the housing crunch. I met with Tom at 33rd Company, and he told me about the benefits of possibly renting out my home instead of trying to sell in during a market slide. So I did just that and discovered that it was a hugely right decision as I received rents for several years, all while the market finally turned around. It was a bit nerve-wracking for me initially, and I did chat with then frequently. But I did realize very early how great a rental property can be as an investment.
The property manager always took care of the maintenance when required, but even better the tenant stayed for several years, and the whole thing was issue free.
They also have a very diligent tenant screening process and that I could tell also helped as the tenant was not delinquent, and completed the lease and renewals without issues. I would say this was so far better than selling, I wish I had started renting homes when I was in my 20's as the tax deduction was great as well. I think 33rd Company has helped me more than I can imagine, and I would have lost big had I followed the advice of my Realtor and sold the property. Thanks, Ray
