I need to take a moment to brag on Chris and his team at Auto Adrenaline. I had my car serviced there today, and it was the best experience with a mechanic I may have ever had in my life, and that's no exaggeration.
My car was in a bad way. Until very recently I had been going through an unemployment spell of nearly two years, and vehicle maintenance just wasn't happening. A couple months ago I had another mechanic (who was supposed to be a friend) look at my car because of a transmission fluid leak. He told me I'd likely need a new radiator and transmission cooler. As this was extremely expensive, I didn't have our "friend" mechanic do the work at the time. Fast forward to now: I brought the car into Chris, and told him what my friend told me. In that situation, I know for a fact many mechanics would opt to do the big expensive radiator swap just because I authorized them to do the work. Not Chris. He went to the trouble of tracing the problem to a small, inexpensive valve, which saved me hundreds of dollars just in the cost of parts alone.
The story doesn't even end there though. When I got home, I wanted to see what sort of work he did, so I popped my hood. I was blown away by what I saw. Because the transmission fluid leak spurted fluid onto my engine, Chris was going to have to clean some grime off my engine to replace a couple parts. I fully expected that he would just clean the parts of the engine near the work site and let the rest be, but when I opened my hood, it was like I was staring at an engine on a showroom floor. Instead of just cleaning the minimum area needed to do the job, he went the extra mile and de-grimed the entire engine while he was in there. I mean everything, even silly little stuff like the fuel lines were polished. I stood there amazed. I have NEVER known a mechanic to do such a great job, or to take so much pride in their work.
And I could brag on and on on other topics too, such as his refreshing honesty. He didn't try to sell me wiper blades or air filters or $50 light bulbs (which actually happened to me once at a dealership garage where a family member works). He did what needed to be done, and didn't play games or pad the bill.
Sadly, I found out about Auto Adrenaline late in the game, as I am moving out of Saint Cloud in less than a month. Even so, I was so impressed by the level of service I received from Chris and his team that I will very seriously consider driving all the way back up here next time I need to have my vehicle serviced. It was just that good.
If you live anywhere near Saint Cloud, I would recommend these guys to you in a heartbeat. My only advice: don't let the building scare you. It might not look like the classiest place in town when you pull up, but I guarantee you won't find a better, friendlier, and more honest mechanic in the area.
