Lanesboro, as a whole, is nothing more than a tourist trap as far as the shops go. I am pretty sure that the "Amish" store is more shameful to the Amish living there than an actual source of pride.
As far as the hotel goes, absolutely beautiful grounds, but do not rent the Pine or Cedar apartments. These are above the garage and unless you like loud music, sawing, shop vacs and singing, this is not your place for a relaxing weekend. Was also treated to an argument between the owners that became very loud and verbally abusive. My wife and I packed up and left right after that incident. That was enough for us.
