Within the past week I had a package due for delivery on a Friday. While working from home that morning (no more than 20 feet from my front door) I received a text message notification saying that USPS had attempted to deliver my package but that supposedly no one was home to sign for it. There was even a delivery slip in my mailbox, meaning the delivery person had entered the building but never knocked on my door. Upon calling the post office (and later talking in person with the man himself) I found that the supervisor had made the delivery run but because he "didn't have time" he left the slip in my mailbox and then marked the delivery as attempted without ever trying to deliver the package. He even had the gall to ask "so, do you want us to buzz you next time?" as if I don't want the person making the delivery to actually. make. an. attempt. This is entirely unacceptable service; the man should not have a job as supervisor if he feels what he did was some kind of acceptable practice.
